Trail Goal
Here are five important points to keep in mind when deciding on a goal.
1. Be specific (set a clear goal)
Make it clear what you want to achieve.
Include concrete numbers and actions, not abstract ones.
Example: "I want to be able to speak English" → "Get 800 points on the TOEIC."
2. Set an achievable level (realistic goal)
Goals that are too high will lower your motivation.
Analyze your current situation and consider your resources (time, skills, environment).
Example: "Lose 10 kg in one month" → "Lose 5 kg in three months."
3. Set a deadline (set a time limit)
Deciding when you will achieve your goal will encourage you to take action.
It is effective to think of short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals separately.
Example: "Study two hours every day to pass a qualification exam in one year."
4. Clarify the reason (understand the significance of the goal)
Consider why you want to achieve that goal.
Having a sense of purpose makes it easier to maintain motivation.
Example: "I want to lose weight" → "I want to get healthy and spend more time with my family"
5. Have an image of what it will be like after you achieve it (paint a vision of success)
Imagine yourself achieving your goal and feel excited.
Make clear the benefits you will have after achieving it and use them as your motivation to act.
Example: "By obtaining a qualification, I will be able to increase my annual income and enjoy a free lifestyle"
Keeping these five points in mind will help you stay focused on your goal and make it easier to achieve it!
