Why do you need to get it?
Here are five reasons why people feel pain when they "cannot get something."
1. Instinctual desires (desire for survival, safety, and comfort)
Humans seek food and safety to survive, and try to live a more comfortable life. Instinctively, they feel that "not getting anything = a crisis in survival."
2. Frustration due to comparison (comparing yourself to others)
When you see someone who is more successful than you, you feel that "I have nothing," and feel inferior and dissatisfied.
3. Feeling that your efforts are not being rewarded (feeling of helplessness)
When you work hard but don't get results, you think "I am worthless," and feel pain.
4. Anxiety about the future (lack of hope)
When you continue to get nothing, you despair, thinking "Is nothing going to change in the future?", and you become mentally cornered.
5. Decline in social evaluation (desire to be recognized is not satisfied)
People have a desire to be recognized by others, but if they don't get anything, they are not evaluated by those around them, and they fall into loneliness and self-denial.
To get out of this pain, it's important to "focus on what you already have" and "accumulate small successes."
